TEL219 is a preclinical phase elastin dermal filler.

Most dermal fillers & enhancers today are made with hyaluronic acid (HA).

HA is a water-loving gel that works by adding volume under your skin, and also by gathering water molecules from the tissues that surround it. About 1/3 of the HA in your body is broken down each day. To combat short durability, the lab-produced HA used in most dermal fillers is crosslinked to make it more durable than it is in nature. Over time, HA fillers will degrade, leaving a “pocket” where the filler once was.

Other fillers use various materials that stimulate your body to produce more collagen.

These “biostimulator” fillers are interesting because their physical presence in your skin can help create volume by encouraging your body to make more collagen and other structural tissues. The downside is that today’s “biostimulator” fillers are not made from materials naturally found in the skin.

    Careful attention has been made to ensure TEL219 extrudes smoothly with consistent force. Delivery with a 25ga cannula is proposed.

    When compared with an HA control, injected with similar volume, elastin filler maintained its volume at 6 months and demonstrated excellent tissue integration.
