About TruElastin
TruElastin began in 2010 with inspiration from elastin-rich, implantable heart valves. We asked “where else could natural elastin help solve today’s health challenges?”
This question led to our patented elastin biomaterial platform, which provides tremendous flexibility and the creative freedom to produce a wide range of materials. The TEL219 natural elastin filler is our first product candidate, currently in preclinical testing.
TEL219 Elastin Filler
TEL219 is our first preclinical stage, elastin filler. It was designed to have excellent ease of use, smooth extrusion, and rheology similar to popular fillers on the market today.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Our elastin biomaterials platform is quite flexible and has proposed applications in a number of areas, including: Dentistry, wound healing, and scar treatment.
In the soft tissue filler category, product candidates with a wide range of physical properties have been developed and are poised to become a healthy product family in the medical aesthetics space.

We are happy to see some buzz in the biotechnology world about an important “relative” to elastin called “tropoelasin”. While these sound similar, they are quite different materials. Tropoelastin is a smaller, “springy” protein that is a precursor and component of elastin. The body converts tropoelastin into the elastin that lasts a lifetime.
You might imagine tropoelastin being a single rubber band, while whole elastin is a network of rubber bands that are woven together. -
